1/28: Senate to Take Up Ban on New Gas at Aliso CanyonJanuary 28, 2016
A state senator plans to try to rush through a bill putting a moratorium on injections of natural gas into a leaking Aliso Canyon storage facility. A spokesman for Democratic Sen. Fran Pavley of Agoura Hills says the Natural Resources and Water Committee and the full Senate will both take up the legislation Thursday. Read more about the ban here.
A gas company representative told the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday that the utility has no plans to shut down its Aliso Canyon storage facility, where a broken well has been leaking gas since October. Read more about their plans here.
The South Coast Air Quality Management District filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the Southern California Gas Company, seeking penalties that could be more than $25 million for the ongoing gas leak in the Porter Ranch neighborhood. Watch the video here.

Sempra Energy (NYSE:SRE) had a weak trading session and its shares were last down at $92, down -0.07% or -0.08 points. The trading data also revealed that the total net flow stood at $0.92 million as the shares had $15.64 million in upticks but lost $14.72 million in downticks. The up/down ratio was 1.06.
