REP. LORETTA SANCHEZ URGES ACTION ON PORTER RANCH IN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA, EPA, AND DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 
In light of the ongoing leak near Porter Ranch, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-46) today sent a letter to President Barack Obama; EPA Administrator, Gina McCarthy; and Secretary of Transportation, Anthony Foxx, urging immediate action and federal oversight to protect Californians’ health and safety, and to prevent any future disastrous natural gas leaks. Gas company short-cuts may have caused Porter Ranch methane leak
Since October 23, a massive methane leak from a well in an underground natural gas storage field in southern California’s Aliso Canyon near Porter Ranch has spewed 91,625 metric tons of the potent greenhouse gas into the atmosphere, according to a counter at the website of the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).
